It might be April Fools Day, but no one was pranking Vin Diesel. The popular actor and star of the Fast & Furious franchise received one of Hollywood's highest accolades today.

While his Fast & Furious co-stars looked on, Vin Diesel put his handprints and footprints in cement in the world-famous forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX. He became the legendary theatre's 282nd handprint-footprint honoree.

In speaking to the crowd,Vin Diesel said, "In some ways it's a miracle to come from where I come from and be standing here before all of you, to be honored in this way."

Vin Diesel also praised Universal Studios as a company that shared his values, especially in the way they paid honor to his friend and co-star Paul Walker.

"I mean just look at Furious 7. You couldn't hope...You couldn't hope for a studio to honor a brother the way they did," said Vin Diesel. "For as long as I live, I'll always be grateful for Universal for the homage they did with their hearts and with so much class. The fact that they allowed us to feel in our hearts that we were making Pablo proud. It makes me believe that Paul is here with us today."

Furious 7 is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on April 3, 2015.
