WonderCon 2012: Trailer For Animated Starship Troopers Sequel

A trailer for Starship Troopers: Invasion, an animated feature that's officially a sequel to RoboCop director Paul Verhoeven's original 1997 film, debuted yesterday at WonderCon and has now made its way online. You can see the trailer below. Based on a novel by Robert Heinlein, Starship Troopers was the only film based on the property ever to get a theatrical release, in spite of inspiring two sequels that went straight to video. While this installment doesn't appear to be headed for theatres either (the website only says "summer 2012" and a cursory Internet search finds no suggestion that the film is headed for your local multiplex, though that could obviously change), a remake announced in December 2011 will likely make it.
