Friendly & Furious
The Wrap got the breakdown on deleted scene with Statham and Johnson, and it sounds like something that would've definitely been fun for Fast and the Furious fans - and action movie fans, in general - to see:
The deleted scene is a nod to "Rocky 3's" fight at the end between Rocky and Apollo. Hobbs and Shaw face off and right before they connect fists they stop, look at one another and one of them goes, "Why are we fighting? We should be working together instead of for that idiot. And "that idiot" is none other than Dominic Toretto, played by Diesel."
You can probably see why Diesel decided to cut the scene from the film, due to the tensions between him and Johnson. Still, for audiences, it would've been a great moment and a great callback to another classic action movie (Rocky 3).
As it stands, Luke Hobbs (Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Statham), are going to be stepping out in their own film, soon enough. How they form that bond from the trash-talking rivalry of Fate of the Furious remains to be seen.
