"I had to look at it a few times to make sure it was to the right person," Dinklage recalls, in a press release, of when he first received the letter alerting him to his selection. "It was a great honor, but just something you hadn't thought of before. It was incredible."
As a sneak preview, Madame Tussauds released images and a video of the sculptors and artists measuring Dinklage for figure. The session lasted more than two hours and over 250 measurements were taken. The figure is valued at approximately $350,000.
"The way you think of yourself and how you look is very different from how everyone else sees you, I believe," Dinklage said. "So, it is going to be strange to see what other people see."
"Peter Dinklage's figure is going to be an incredible addition to our attraction. We are thrilled to share his wax figure with the millions of avid 'Game of Thrones' fans around the world prior to the show's highly anticipated return," said Chris Connors, General Manager of Madame Tussauds San Francisco.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 24.
