New American Horror Story Season 6 Promo Features Lady Gaga's Perfect Illusion

The most recently released Season 6 promo for American Horror Story features Lady Gaga's brand new single "Perfect Illusion," which debuted on Thursday.

The pop superstar sings, "It was a perfect illusion" over the top of an infectious dance-floor beat while the terrifying themes from the show's misleading promo videos are all mashed together. The words illustrate the unique promotional strategy for AHS season 6, which is to misdirect the fans as to what the actual theme of the series is going to be.

"Ever year, we've basically laid out the themes, the new genre that Ryan [Murphy]'s going to be approaching, and we just thought [this year] it'd be really fun to keep it a mystery," John Landgraf, the CEO of FX stated back in August. "So, we are."

While the showrunners maintain the show real theme of the sixth season will be kept under wraps until the premiere, some have speculated that the real theme has already been revealed.

Lady Gaga is no stranger to the series as she appeared in Season 5 as the vampire-like creature Elizabeth aka The Countess. She even went on to win a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film for the role.

The 30-year-old pop singer has also signed on to appear in Season 6 as well. However, there have been no details released regarding her character.

Season 6 of American Horror Story returns to Fox on Wednesday, September 14.
