Han Solo Star Wars

While most fans weren't entirely surprised to hear that there were more Star Wars episodes on the way--it's an incredibly lucrative property that can't be kept on the bench forever, after all, and it's not as though Lucas hadn't planned for more than the existing six--this one's pretty surprising: After years of denying that he'd ever look back, superstar leading man Harrison Ford is reportedly now open to returning as Han Solo, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it, all three of them are," a "highly-placed source" is quoted as saying of Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, the three primary human protagonists in the original Star Wars trilogy. "I don't think there's a way to weave [Han Solo] back into the story," Ford said in a 2010 interview, embedded below. "And besides which, as a character he was not so interesting to me." EW is speculating that his contract, should he sign on for Episode VII, may stipulate that it's the final appearance of the character and that he gets to finally die. He added in that interview that he thought Solo should have died in Return of the Jedi, "but George [Lucas] didn't think there was any future in dead Han toys." Shows what he knows! Those would be collectors' items by now.
