That would be Lord Drakkon, a dark version of Tommy that makes the “Green with Evil” storyline Tommy look tame by comparison. That Hashtag Show caught up with Jason David Frank, who of course played the original Green Ranger. It turns out he’s also quite the Lord Drakkon fan.

“It is (amazing). It’s funny because you guys gave me another character, Lord Drakkon. Just another one under my, which I’ve added to my Power Ranger universe, like 5 and now I say Lord Drakkon (6), which is amazing. Kyle wrote it. I talked to Kyle last night, I talk to Kyle all the time.”

Frank recalled the first time he met Kyle Higgins at a convention, not knowing he would later take the character of Tommy in such a cool direction.

“I met Kyle at a Comic Con, and I didn’t know who he was, and I was super nice to him at the end of the show, and here he is writing the most epic Power Rangers storyline ever, which I think is amazing.”

Who knows, maybe fans will get to see a live-action version of the character with Jason David Frank in the costume? Crazier things have happened, right?

Jason David Frank will be appearing at 2018’s Power Morphicon, and you can purchase your membership packages on RegOnline. The official Power Rangers convention is set to begin on Friday, August 17th and runs through Sunday, August 19th, and will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove โ€“ and the world โ€“ is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

(Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) as Trini the Yellow Ranger, as they attempt to stop the evil and unpredictable Rita Repulsa (played by Elizabeth Banks, The Hunger Games Franchise) from destroying their cityโ€ฆand ultimately the world. Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as Zordon, and Bill Hader (Finding Dory) as Alpha 5 train the Rangers to morph and master their powers as a united team.
