The introduction of the Green Ranger is one of the most anticipated aspects of a Power Rangers sequel, and the Red Ranger recently opened up about the possibility of that Ranger being a female.
Dacre Montgomery stepped into the leadership role in the reboot, and at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 he spoke to ScreenRant about how a female Green Ranger would fit within the team.
"Yeah. I think I was talking about that when we were doing a press conference in L.A. I mean, for me, it was just the whole idea of there's three boys. There's two girls. What if the sixth Ranger was a girl? I don't know. I think it's open for interpretation. That was just mine and a couple of other cast members' interpretation. Yeah. But also there's also some ground there for the OG fans about, like, Tommy is a guy so I'm not wanting to mess with that at the same time as advocating for a girl. So we shall see."
He did reiterate nothing official has been announced, saying, "I'm not saying there's a sequel. I'm not saying it's a girl or a boy, but I hope that if it does go in that direction that everyone can be satisfied with it and that it can be conducive to being a good movie, a good sequel."

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

(Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) as Trini the Yellow Ranger, as they attempt to stop the evil and unpredictable Rita Repulsa (played by Elizabeth Banks, The Hunger Games Franchise) from destroying their city…and ultimately the world. Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as Zordon, and Bill Hader (Finding Dory) as Alpha 5 train the Rangers to morph and master their powers as a united team.
