Every Power Ranger needs their iconic weapon, and Jason David Frank picked his up one more time for the fans.

Frank was appearing at Minnesota Fan Fest last weekend, and he got his hands on the Green Ranger’s weapon of choice, the Dragon Dagger, during the proceedings. It isn’t apparent in the video if he just found it lying around or if a fan had one on hand, but either way, he decided to recreate a favorite Mighty Morphin sequence complete with an “it’s Morphin Time!”

This being the toy version, it actually features the audio which typically meant that the Dragonzord was not very far away. As you can see in the video below, Frank has some fun with it, moving it back and forth from the camera and “playing it” on occasion. The only thing missing is a giant Zord, but that probably wasn’t in the budget.

As Mighty Morphin fans know, the dagger served two purposes. It could be used as a weapon of course, which it certainly was along with the Sword of Darkness during Tommy’s evil days. It is also used to summon the powerful Dragonzord from the depths of the ocean, which is a fan-favorite sequence from the original series.

Fans have always loved the Green Ranger, and that’s why it hit so hard when he left the show. Frank revealed to That Hashtag Show why he ended up coming back as the White Ranger in Season Two.

They said we have an issue, and I said what’s the issue? You lost your powers from the show, and kids around the world, parents, and everyone are calling and saying hey, my kid’s not going to eat, they’re not going to school, so Saban and Fox freaked out and brought me back on the show as the White Ranger. It’s a true story, they had a petition around petitioning “we need to bring the Green Ranger back.”

Since then Frank has returned to the series several more times and even made a cameo in the recent Power Rangers reboot. As for what the future holds, Power Rangers fans are always holding out hope he makes another surprise appearance.
