A digitally remastered Director’s Cut of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan will be shown in over 600 theaters nationwide on September 10th and September 13th courtesy of Fathom Events and Paramount Pictures. The film will be accompanied by a brand new, in-depth interview with William Shatner (Captain James T. Kirk) that will play prior to each screening.

A complete list of participating theaters can be found on the Fathom Events website, where tickets are already on sale.

“Making Star Trek II seems like only yesterday,” Shatner said in a statement. “Even back then, we knew we were creating something really special, and to have The Wrath of Khan back on the big screen 35 years later is a wonderful testament both to the film itself and to the incredible passion of Star Trek fans.”

Directed by Nicholas Meyer, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was the sixth-highest-grossing movie of 1982.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is the continuation of the story begun in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode “Space Seed.” Ricardo Montalban returns as Khan Noonian Singh, an enemy of Starfleet who was marooned on a lifeless planet by Captain Kirk and is now eager to exact his revenge.

“Star Trek II holds a special place in the hearts of Star Trek fans,” Tom Lucas, Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations, said. “Fathom is proud to work with Paramount Pictures to present it again on the big screen, with all of its excitement, action, drama and emotion.”

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Bibi Besch, Paul Winfield, Kirstie Alley, and Ricardo Montalbรกn.

While Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is returning to theaters, rumors are also circulating that Meyer may be working on a television series prequel focused on Khan.
