It isn’t hard to find films with some intense weaponry. Scarface is known for its machine guns, and any war film will feature enough gunpowder to get any marksman excited. However, in the world of pop culture, few Hollywood weapons can reach the popularity of a good-old lightsaber. Now, hundreds of fans are trying to prove that fact as they bid over one iconic piece of Star Wars memorabilia.

Thanks to The Profile Hollywood Auction 89, Luke Skywalker is about to see his original lightsaber go on sale to the public. The company is offering a variety of Hollywood props to bidders, but its lightsaber sale is meant to honor the sci-fi franchise’s 40th anniversary.

The original lightsaber is being auctioned off by producer Gary Kurtz, and the piece has seen on-screen action. Mark Hamill did use the prop in question in both Star Wars: A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.

If you are wanting to take a stab at the auction, then you will want to take out a quick loan. The event is schedule to take place between June 26-28 over in Los Angeles. Right now, the Star Wars prop is expected to sell for a lot of pretty pennies. Current estimates suggest the Star Wars weapon will sell between $150,000 and $250,000. The last time one of Luke Skywalker’s lightsabers went up for sale, the prop earned $240,000. So, really, it’s a wonder Han Solo hasn’t tried to steal it and sell the prop at a profit.

The lightsaber is not the only Star Wars prop going up to auction later this month. A complete R2-D2 unit used during filming will be put up, so fans can expect the robotic sidekick to sell for plenty of money. Original concept art from Tom Jung will also be sold, so fans can have a piece of movie poster history at home if they can muster up the cash.

Aside from Star Wars, the Hollywood auction will have items in stock from other films. A script from Casablanca will be sold alongside Conan the Barbarian‘s Atlantean Sword. Puppets from The Nightmare Before Christmas will be auctioned off, and a novelization of the Wizard of Oz signed by its original cast will hit the floor as well.
