Star Wars: Lucasfilm Exec Gives Out Major Snoke Theory Tip

When it comes to Star Wars, there is one question which every fan wants answered. After being introduced to Supreme Leader Snoke in The Force Awakens, audiences have been begging to learn the villain’s true identity. Dozens of fan-theories have popped up regarding Snoke’s origins, and the ideas have grown increasingly crazy. Now, one of Lucasfilm’s executives is hinting at one piece of Snoke’s backstory, and it has got conspiracy theorists scratching their heads.

Taking to Twitter, Pablo Hidalgo sent Star Wars fans into a frenzy when he tweeted out a hint about Snoke. The executive is one of the creative leads with Lucasfilm Story Group, and Hidalgo confirmed that Snoke was definitely not a human.

“I guess this question has come up. Snoke’s humanity, as described in the novelization of The Force Awakens,” the creator wrote before attaching a snippet from the Star Wars novel. You can read the excerpt below:

“Seat on the raised platform that was the focus of the chamber was the blue-tinted holo of Supreme Leader Snoke. Tall and gaunt, he was humanoid but no human. The hood of the dark robe he…”

When asked to confirm his statement by fans, Hidalgo then told a fan that “Snoke’s humanity is set in stone because that sentence got published.” The executive also said Snoke’s non-human status was “confirmed with TFA and the novel.”

“He varied a lot in terms of species and gender until production started,” Hidalgo revealed.

So, if you were one of the many fans who thought the villain was Darth Plagueis, Palpatine, or even Mace Windu – think again. For all fans know, Snoke could be a brand-new character whom audiences have never met before. With the character’s race and gender up in the air, Lucasfilm is making it hard for Star Wars lovers to suss out the villain’s true identity. And, if reports are right, then fans won’t find out anything substantial about Snoke’s true self until Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
