The Twitter and Instagram accounts for the show shared a poster inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi, advertising the zombie series’ February mid-season premiere.
“Walking Dead: All Out War” sees Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in place of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker, as warrior Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) katana is replaced with a Jedi Knight lightsaber. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the villain of the piece, wields a red lightsaber inspired by barbwire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille.
The front half of The Walking Dead season 8 concluded December 10 with a shocking revelation from one of the series’ longest running survivors.
Spoilers: Carl Grimes will be the next to die, with the back-half of season 8 launching with the young Grimes’ death.
“Yes, Carl is going to die,” actor Chandler Riggs said. “There’s no way he can get back from [the bite]. His story is definitely coming to an end.”
Riggs clarified it wasn’t his decision to depart the show after eight-and-a-half seasons.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now playing. The Walking Dead returns to AMC February 25.
