I think it’s safe to say that Norman Reedus isn’t the biggest fan of Konami.

You couldn’t help but get that impression from a recent post by The Walking Dead actor via his Instagram account, which took a picture of the Metal Gear Solid V mastermind and generally loved gaming figure Hideo Kojima from years past (via Polygon).

The image showed Kojima drinking out of a Konami-branded cup in better times between the two, but Reedus used a bit of Photoshop magic to add a nice jab at the PR beleaguered publisher, putting the word “Tears” underneath the Konami logo.

Reedus’ negative opinion in regards to the publisher isn’t surprising, as the actor was previously involved with Kojima and creator Guillermo del Toro on the Konami project Silent Hills. The teaser for that ambitious project was released to the Playstation Store as PT and excited the Silent Hill fanbase with its first person camera work and tense atmosphere.

Unfortunately, things hit a big snag after that, mostly due to the fallout between Kojima and Konami, who had been on a bad PR cycle for a few months when the treatment of their creators and employees came under intense scrutiny. The Silent Hills project was cancelled, and after the completion of Metal Gear Solid V the creator parted ways with the company, eventually starting a new studio under Sony’s umbrella.

At E3 this year, Kojima debuted his new title, Death Stranding, and he is again partnering with Norman Reedus. It seems the two are in a much better place now, and the title has already shot towards to the top of many fan’s wishlists.
