The back half of The Walking Dead‘s seventh season appeared to be running strong with its returning episode garnering 12 million viewers for the third-best ratings of the season. However, since the return, the ratings have slid downward, and though it hasn’t been as sharp of a drop as the first half’s near 40% decrease, they’re bringing The Walking Dead to lowest ratings since Season 3.
Episode 7×13, Bury Me Here, saw two surprising characters bow out of the AMC series while 10.68 million people watched, for a 4.88 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.

This is the first rise in ratings The Walking Dead has seen since the midseason premiere, where the numbers went up to 12 million viewers. While 10.68 is still a lower total than the show has enjoyed in the last couple of years, it’s still an improvement.
Check out the ratings trend of this year’s episodes below:
- 7×01: 17.03 million
- 7×02: 12.46 million
- 7×03: 11.72 million
- 7×04: 11.40 million
- 7×05: 11.00 million
- 7×06: 10.40 million
- 7×07: 10.48 million
- 7×08: 10.58 million
- 7×09: 12 million
- 7×10: 11.08 million
- 7×11: 10.42 million
- 7×12: 10.16 million
- 7×13: 10.68 million
With the show building toward an action-packed climax, there is bound to be some more growth as the finale draws closer. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the viewers get back to 12 million in 7×16.
