The Walking Dead: Best Quotes From Season Two

Hershel’s farm. Shane vs. Rick. Daryl’s trip in the woods. Sophia walking out of the barn. All highlights of The Walking Dead‘s second season.

With those highlights came some fun, witty, and, at times, deep dialogue. Hershel, a man of faith, tried to enforce his rules and beliefs on the group. While Rick would abide by the rules for purposes of security at the farm, Shane wanted everyone to be armed and wanted all walkers killed immediately.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at some of our favorite quotes from The Walking Dead‘s second season.

Secrets Out

Starting with one of the few lighthearted moments from season two, Glenn Rhee just could not keep secrets.

In a moment where tensions were running high on the farm, Glenn blurted out, “There’s walkers in the barn and Lori’s pregnant.” Instantly, Rick and Shane’s rivalry was at an all-time high. Who’s baby is it? What do they do about the walkers in the barn? Will they be kicked off the farm for looking inside?

Another great line involving Glenn came a bit ealier in the season when he and Maggie Greene went off on a run together. As Glenn covered up his search for a pregnancy test, he found himself looking a boxes of condoms, prompting Maggie to surprisingly say, “I’ll have sex with you.”

Become A Villain

Harvey Dent said it best… You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.

Shane reiterated a similar message in The Walking Dead‘s second season. “You can’t just be the good guy and expect to live. Not anymore,” Shane says.

By the end of season two, Shane certainly had become a villain and considering the path Rick has followed through six the following four seasons, he and Shane may agree he has arguably become a villain, as well.

Have Some Faith

One of the deeper lines offered by The Walking Dead was during an exchange between Rick Grimes and Hershel Greene.

“You’re a man of God, have some faith,” Rick tells Hershel.

“I can’t profess to understand God’s plan, but when Christ promised a resurrection of the dead, I just thought he had something a little different in mind,” Hershel responds.

We’re All Infected

In a season which saw one of the most shocking moments of the entire series in its midseason finale, The Walking Dead still outdid itself and surprised fans in the second season’s second half.

“We’re all infected,” Rick told the remaining survivors. “At the CDC, Jenner told me. Whatever it is, we all carry it.”

We had been wondering what Jenner whispered in Rick’s ears prior to detonation for months. When it turned out to be a major plot twist for the mythology of The Walking Dead‘s world, audiences were left with their jaws on the floor.

Ricktator

Fed up with being questioned and reeling from being forced to kill his former best friend, Rick took charge of the group of survivors and laid down the law in the season two finale.

“Get one thing straight. You’re staying? This isn’t a democracy anymore,” Rick tells the group. It was one of the most meaningful, powerful, and bad-ass lines Rick has delivered to date. In fact, the only line which might compare to the impressive confidence is probably his “screwing with the wrong people,” moment from the season five finale.

“I didn’t ask for this,” the sheriff adds. “I killed my best friend for you people.”
