WARNING: Major Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead‘s seventh season!

Videos by ComicBook.com

In just a few days, the epic conclusion to season seven of The Walking Dead will finally arrive. The past couple of episode of set fans up for an enormous battle, and the preview seemed to live up to those expectations.

There was a ton of information, hidden messages, and comic nods packed into the 30-second clip, and it was definitely hard to catch everything within. Each time you watch the trailer, you seem to notice something else.

If you don’t have the time or patience to watch the new finale preview on repeat don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Check out this detailed breakdown of every important shot, and the possibilities that are hidden inside.

Scavengers Drive A Dump Truck

In the first shot of the preview, someone is seen entering Alexandria. The gritty dump truck had some people thinking it could be the Saviors, but a closer look says otherwise.

This group is the Scavengers, and it looks like they’re coming to fight alongside Rick and the others.

Of course they drive a dump truck, which makes total sense when you live in a junkyard. The characters in front are riding bikes, which fits their personalities extremely well.

Roadblock

As Dwight begins to say that he can help Rick, you can see the Saviors stopped at a roadblock. Simon is walking back, and you can catch a glimpse of Negan in the corner.

This is the same strategy that the Saviors used against Rick in last season’s finale. With Dwight on Rick’s side, he can make sure the right roads are blocked, and that the Saviors go in the right direction.

It’s also worth noting that this is the first time Simon and Negan are seen together since the season premiere.

You’re Gonna Help Me

Sasha is still being kept in the cell, so Negan hasn’t fully welcomed her into the fold yet. He’s telling Sashaย she’s going to help him put an end to things.

This proves that Negan knows Rick is trying to plan an attack, and he’s going to try and nip it in the bud.

Explosives

Rick utilized explosives this past week, as he lured the Oceanside women out of their hiding place. It looks like the group is going to do the same in the battle against Negan.

Rosita, Aaron, and Daryl are wiring together some explosives in the back of a truck, and it looks like they’re rigging a trap for the Saviors.

These explosives were taken from the Saviors in the first place, so it’s awesome that Rick is turning things back on theย original owners.

All Together

The Scavengers were entering Alexandria at the beginning of the preview, and it looks like they’re fully taking up arms with Rick.

A large group of people are seen lining the Alexandria wall, and they’re preparing for the Saviors to come their way.ย

Something’s Wrong

In one shot, Rosita is staring out of the gate with a terrified look on her face. In the background, you can tell Tara looks a little scared as well.

Later on, Michonne looks up from her rifle scope with a similar expression.

It’s clear that these women are seeing something they don’t want to. Could this mean Negan has brought Sashaย back? Could he have her lined up in another Lucille moment?

If it’s Sasha, that really explains the look on Rosita’s face. While everyone would be hurt, she feels like it’s supposed to be here out there instead.

Negan’s Back

As Negan approaches Alexandria, there are a few big things worth noticing.ย

First of all, Dwight is standing behind him, as a part of the attack. This signifies Rick and Dwight coming to an understanding, and Dwight continuing to act as a mole.

The second – and most important – thing to notice in this shot, is the object in the bottom right corner. It looks like a black hood of some kind, resting on a person’s head.

Comic readers have been thinking Sashaย will get Holly’s death, and this shot could signify that. In that story, Negan says he’s going to give Holly back, but she has a bag over her head and her hands tied behind her back. When they pull her hood off, it’s revealed that she’s been turned into a walker, and she bites Denise.

If this is what’s happening on the show, it would be a great call-back to Negan’s earlier line. He tells Sashaย she is going to “help him”.

Shiva Is Ready

Two weeks ago, Ezekiel made it clear that he was finally ready to take the Kingdom to war against the Saviors. That point was again made in the sneak peek from the finale, where the King convinced Morgan to fight with him.

In this shot, the Kingdom is marching to war. Carol shares a look with Ezekiel, signifying her commitment to him. You can also see the Kingdom’s flag flying behind them.

The biggest point here is that Shiva is heading into war as well. Ezekiel wouldn’t bring the tiger if he wasn’t planning on using her as a weapon, so expect to see Shiva tearing apart some Saviors.

Same Level

Eugene has been treated like an important part of Negan’sย community since he arrived, but it doesn’t look that way in this shot.

He and Sashaย are being walked through the halls of the Sanctuary, and it looks as though they are equals.

This could mean that Sashaย is being taken to become a part of the Saviors, but that’s not very likely yet. It could also mean Negan discovered Eugene’s poison, and they’re both in serious trouble.

Hilltop Is Coming

Under Gregory’s leadership, Hilltop wouldn’t dare fight the Saviors. However, Gregory left his home at the end of this past episode.

With the leader gone, it looks like the people of Hilltop are wanting to help out. Maggie and Jesus have left their community, and they’re caught staring at something in the distance.

Could this be taking place outside of Alexandria?

There Will Be Action

Action has been teased in previews throughout this entire season, but it doesn’t always turn out to be as intense as fans are hoping.ย

However, a couple of shots in this trailer ensure that the action will definitely happen.

Carl is seen running with a gun, and he’s clearly in some kind of distress. Moments later, Rick is seen turning around the RV and aiming his gun.

Between their actions, and the smoke rising all around, it’s clear that a fight is definitely underway.

An Important Clash

Daryl and Dwight have developed quite a history over the last couple of seasons. Daryl tried to help Dwight, but Negan still managed to capture them. Since then, Dwight turned into an incredibly evil lackey.

While Daryl was imprisoned, Dwight put him through hell. He may want to help now, but there was a large chunk of time where Dwight was Daryl’s source of all things terrible.

This shot shows the two men coming to a clash, and Daryl threatening to kill Dwight. Earlier shots make it clear that this doesn’t happen, but there’s no telling what kind of dialogue the two will have.
