The Walking Dead Season 8 is set to begin production (barring a writers’ strike) next week in Georgia. With time winding down, Carl actor Chandler Riggs is spending his last few days of production off-season reading the script.

The actor took to Twitter to tell the world he not only received the first script for Season 8 but also reveal how much he loved it.

“Just finished reading 8×01 of The Walking Dead and, oh man, it’s so good,” Riggs said (in Twitter language).

Riggs is one of very few actors who have been with the AMC zombie series since its earliest season. In fact, no one has been with the show longer than Riggs or the man playing his father, Rick actor Andrew Lincoln. The two characters are the only ones who appeared in The Walking Dead‘s series premiere and are alive and well marching into an eighth season.

Riggs has found the off-season to be the most fun part of the show, though. Now that he has read the script, he can’t share crazy theories or go back and forth with fans about what might happen.

“To be honest, the coolest part of every year for me is between the airing of the season finale and getting the first script of the new season,” Riggs wrote, also in young-person Twitter language. “Mainly because I get to speculate with fans on what will happen without any bias.”

The amount of fans screaming that they would love to read the script and have that bias right now…
