Potential spoilers for The Walking Dead follow.

Daryl and Carol have been fan favorite characters on The Walking Dead since the very first season. The two developed a special bond in the second season which surprised viewers as Daryl Dixon came off as a hardened jerk with no sense of emotions at first. However, his soft spot for Carol and other characters like her became more apparent as the show went on.

Some fans went as far as hoping to see the two develop a romantic relationship. While it will be some time until that’s a possibility again, seeing as Carol appears to be involved with King Ezekiel at this point, it won’t be too long until Carol and Daryl reunite.

Having been separate for the entirety of Season 7 so far and the majority of Season 6, Carol and Daryl will almost certainly come together in the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead‘s seventh season.

Daryl and Rick finally came back together in the midseason 7 finale. Daryl escaped the clutches of Negan, gave Rick his gun back, and band together with Maggie, Carl, Michonne and others in the first conversation about taking Negan down. When the show returns, this group will discuss a war against the Saviors with Gregory and ultimately head straight for the Kingdom.

Clips from the upcoming episodes have revealed Jesus telling Rick about the King Ezekiel, a character who will make for interesting interactions with Rick Grimes, but he will inevitably be on a course for the newly introduced community when the show returns. Daryl will join him for the ride.

When Rick and his group arrive at the Kingdom, Daryl and Carol will reunite for the first time in what has been a few weeks in the world of The Walking Dead. Carol might even be able to steal Daryl away from Rick for the time being, seeing as Negan is going to come searching for him when he realizes he escaped the Sanctuary and the Kingdom is not on the top of Daryl’s presumed hideouts.

The only obstacle here is whether or not Carol will actually be at the Kingdom. She has elected to live alone in a small house outside of the community. However, the Season 7B trailer shows Carol being an active part of the discussion over whether or not a war with Negan is the right move, so it’s safe to assume it won’t be long until Daryl and Carol are together again.
