A fact about The Walking Dead‘s Steven Yeun which some fans may be unaware of is that he once appeared on one of television’s other most popular series: The Big Bang Theory.

Featured briefly in a flashback sequence on the CBS series, the man who brought Glenn Rhee to life on The Walking Dead for just over six seasons turned out to be Sheldon Cooper’s former roommate!

As the story goes, Leonard sits down to talk with Penny about problems he is having with Sheldon, as is common for him, and tells he her should have expect this. Seven years ago he was searching for Sheldon’s apartment when Yeun’s character popped out of the elevator with his bags packed for the apocalypse.

“Oh, I bet you’re here to check out the room for rent!” Yeun’s character, dubbed as Sebastian, told Leonard. “Run away, dude. Run fast, fun far!”

Time on TWD

Shortly after his small role on The Big Bang Theory, Yeun landed his role as Glenn on The Walking Dead. The Big Bang Theory‘s episode, titled, “The Staircase Implementation” aired in May of 2010. By this time, Yeunย wasย likelyย kicking off his work on the six-episode first season of the zombie apocalypse show.ย

Yeun’s Glenn would be introduced in the second episode of the AMCย series, though his voice would be the sign of hope for Rick Grimes at the conclusion of the premiere episode. He played the lovable former pizza boy who was always willing to help the group find a new way to survive and went on to marry the farmer’s daughter, Maggie, as the group expanded to the prison, then Terminus, and eventually called Alexandria home.

Yeun’sย time on The Walking Dead came to a bitter end when Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan stepped in and bashed Glenn’s skull with a baseball wrapped in barbed wire and named Lucille.ย

Next For Yeun

Since leaving The Walking Dead, Yeun has had no trouble finding other work.ย

The actor has lent his voice to a couple of animated series on Netflix: Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters and the cult hit Voltron series. Over the next couple of years, the actor has new seasons of those shows on the horizon but is also attached to several upcoming films.

Most notably, Yeunย will star in the comic book movie Chew, but is also set to appear in Mayhem, Okja, and The Star.

Shortly after bidding farewell to the zombie apocalypse, the actor also took the time to get married and have a baby!
