Now, fans have another reason to be excited. Morgan, who portrays Negan on the AMC series, quickly took to Twitter to tease a potential appearance as Thomas Wayne donning the cape and cowl of Batman as seen in the Flashpoint comic book series.
“Did you say… #Flashpoint?” Morgan wrote in the tweet which came with a photo of himself and Cohan at the 2017 Comic Con panel. He also tagged her in the tweet.

In the Flashpoint story, Barry Allen goes back in time to save his mother. However, in doing so, Barry disturbs the world’s timeline and creates a new world, spawned by a butterfly effect type of story based on the change to his mother’s fate. In this timeline, the Wayne family is in an entirely different predicament. Rather than Thomas and Martha having been killed, prompting Bruce Wayne to grow into the Caped Crusader, the father of the family is the one who takes on the responsibility of protecting Gotham.
Thomas Wayne is Batman in the Flashpoint story.
In Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the second film in the DC Extended Universe, Thomas Wayne was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. If the role is to remain without recasting and the film accurately adapts the DC Comics story, it would place Morgan in Batman’s cowl.
The Walking Dead films its season from late April through early October. It is currently in production of its eighth season. The schedule would allow for Morgan, who likely won’t be leaving the popular AMC series any time soon having told ComicBook.com he is “in it for the long haul,” to film from November through April.

During a panel at Walker Stalker Con, Jeffrey Dean Morgan fielded questions from fans.
“Zack [Snyder] and I go back toย Watchmenย days,” Morgan said. “So I’ve got a little bit of relationship with the DC losers. He called me a year before we shot that…I met Lauren. It was great. I still see Lauren. It was great and yeah, is there another plan for that Thomas Wayne character? We’ll see. I don’t know. I would love to be the dark Batman. That’s the darkest Batman there is. God knows I embrace the darkness.”
Morgan has already thought about the role and how it would compare to his role onย The Walking Dead.ย “Flashpointย Batman would be like doing a comedy compared to beingย Negan,” Morgan said.
