The Walking Dead: Michonne Quotes Andrea

Ever since Rick and Michonne got together, fans have been wondering if she will fully become Andrea’s character from the comics.

See, in the comics, Andrea didn’t die back in Woodbury. She continued to live and, eventually, fell in love with Rick. The two formed a powerful couple, and remain together through the most current issue.

While Michonne still remains true to her original character in many ways, she’s also started to become Andrea in others. The scene where she was practicing with the rifle was one of the biggest nods to the character, as Andrea was always known for her abilities as a sharpshooter.

In ‘Rock In The Road’, Michonne once again channels her inner-Andrea. This time – just as in the midseason finale – it’s in the form of a quote.

After the scare on the highway, Rick and Michonne barely make back to the car. When they do, she offers Rick these comforting words:

“We can make it. We can. We’re the ones who live.”

When Andrea and Rick first together in the comics, he pushed her away. Rick didn’t want Andrea to get too close to him, because everyone who became close to Rick wound up dead. Andrea stood her ground, and told him that neither one of them were going to die. That they were the ones who lived.

Michonne had a similar conversation when she found Rick in the jail cell in the last episode. She said that neither one of them should be alive after what they’d been through, but they found a way to survive. Because they were the ones who lived.
