Although each season of American Horror Story has been different, the series has found ways to tie each story together. Certain characters have popped in multiple seasons, and conversations have often directed a viewer’s attention back to events from past story arcs. This has created a very intricate connected universe, and it gives Ryan Murphy the chance to bring back popular characters at the drop of a hat.

For the actors, this also presents a unique opportunity. If there was a character you enjoyed playing in a past season, you can always have hope that the writing team will find a way to bring them back.
Sarah Paulson has become one of the show’s biggest stars, and she’s portrayed all kinds of characters over the years. Ranging from a two-headed singer, to an addiction-raddled killer, Paulson has done just about everything. She even portrayed Asylum’s Lana Winders in multiple seasons.
So, which of her other roles would Sarah Paulson like to play again?
During the AHS panel at Paleyfest, she was asked that very question. However, her answer may surprise you.
“Probably Cordelia. We only got to see her just getting her powers,” she said. “I just would like to know if the power might have been something that kind of changed her.”
“Maybe we’ll get to see that,” Paulson added.
So, of all the crazy roles she’s played, Paulson would like to head back to Coven the most. It makes sense, as her character was just becoming powerful in the season finale. Seeing her down the road would be an experience many viewers would welcome, and it looks like Paulson is on board.
New American Horror Story episodes are set to debut on FX this September.
