The CW has released a new Riverdale featurette, featuring showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa previewing tonight's "The Lost Weekend" episode. The network also put out a trio of sneak peeks from it as well.
"It was written by two really terrific staff writers, Britta Lundin and Brian Paterson," Aguirre-Sacasa says in the featurette. "We haven't done kind of a big high school party. This is the first time we're doing it, so it's really really fun. Betty and Archie are going to throw a very small, very inner-circle birthday party for Jughead Jones. As often with these high school parties, they kind of bully them into a huge keg-rager.
"Chuck Clayton we last saw in Episode 3, when he tried to slut-shame Veronica, and Betty and Veronica turn the tables on Chuck," he continues, "He swore revenge on them, and this is the episode where he comes back to exact that revenge."
As for the sneak peeks, Archie gives Betty a heads up that Jughead's birthday is tomorrow, Jughead gets upset with Betty for throwing him a party, and Cheryl and Veronica have a sizzingly-hot dance-off.

When Fred (Luke Perry) decides to finalize the divorce with Archie's mother Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald), Archie (KJ Apa) hides his true feelings. Archie tries to win Valerie (guest star Hayley Law) back with a romantic evening, however, Betty (Lili Reinhart) hijacks his plans when she decides to throw Jughead (Cole Sprouse) a surprise birthday party. Once Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) learns of the party, she decides to make it interesting and things quickly get out of control. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) contemplates whether she should participate in the deposition to help get her Dad released. Madchen Amick and Marishol Nichols also star.
Dawn Wilkinson directed the episode written by Britta Lundin & Brian E. Paterson.
Riverdale stars KJ Apa as Archie, Cole Sprouse as Jughead, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camilla Mendes as Veronica Lodge, and Luke Perry as Archie's father Fred Andrews, among others. The series' showrunner is Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Archie Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer and the writer of Afterlife With Archie, the publisher's wildly popular zombie series.
