Now, if you recall, there has been quite a big question mark heading into this new season. As season seven ended, it was revealed that Archer had been shot by Veronica Deane. The show threw everybody off for a bit, when another Archer – who had also been shot in the gut – appeared next to the Archer that was seemingly dying in the pool. The walking Archer said Veronica shot him, and then he got down on a knew to propose to Lana.
Unfortunately, that Archer was the cyborg version that Krieger had designed. Everyone then realized that the real Archer was floating in the bloody pool, seemingly deceased.
So, that left everybody confused during the offseason. Since Archer is still the focal point of the advertising, how could he be dead? Some are taking the new Dreamland title at face value, assuming that it means Archer is in some kind of dream-state for this whole story.
Other believe it’s simply a noir storyline, and Archer miraculously recovered from his wounds after the season seven finale.
Either way, everyone should find out in tonight’s episode. No matter what happened to Archer in the finale, we’ll get plenty of laughs out of the premiere. If you need a little more catch-up before tonight’s episode, check out the Dreamland trailer above.
