Let the battle of the cruiserweights begin!

Monday afternoon, WWE released the complete list of names of wrestlers who are participating in the first ever WWE Cruiserweight Classic Series. The thirty-two competitors are definitely a who’s who of major independent stars and well familiar names to long time fans.
Some were a no-brainer and some even caught me by surprise. The inclusion of former WWE superstars Tajiri and Brian Kendrick (who now works as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center) was a nice surprise. New Japan wrestler Kota Ibushi, who was seen at NXT: TakeOver Dallas joins the ranks as well in the tournament.
You can see the full list compiled here, which gives stats and highlight videos of each wrestler so that the possible uninitiated WWE fan can get to know these bright stars more before the tournament starts.
Triple H, the organizer and booker for the upcoming tournament, announced that the tournament will be filmed June 23, July 14, August 26 and September 14 at Full Sail University, the filming site for NXT.
