The Walking Dead Season 5 finale reportedly has a runtime of 90 minutes, extending the typical 60-minute format by 30 minutes.

The news comes from EW writer Dalton Ross, who tweeted the information on Wednesday.

The episode will directed by executive producer Greg Nicotero. While little is known about the season finale’s plot so far, the extended running time seems to imply that its story will be pretty big.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on AMC.

  1. so the episode is what now an hour and 15 mins? as normal episodes are 40-45 mins, the extra 15 comes from adverts and shouldn't be counted in to the episodes

  2. I'll take it.

  3. I agree anonymous 6651 Waaaayyyy too many comercials as it is

  4. The finales are often aired with limited commercial breaks, so we might get lucky!

Yes, about time they did this. My son and I have been saying for a long time we need extended shows once in a while, like LOST did every year. We'll take ANY additional time for this great show. Sure, more commercials, but we'll still get more show than if it was 60 min (to the naysayers that always show up with nothing positive to say). Peace.
