And you thought your Star Wars Day Celebrations were cool.

In honor of May the Fourth Day, a group of Star Wars fans spent 60 hours and $800 crafting a mammoth Star Destroyer out of Legos—just so they could destroy it. After constructing the enormous LEGO sculpture, the creators  dropped the beast at a glorious 1000 frames per second on a special landing pad for maximum damage. If you're going to trash a labor of love, might as well look awesome while doing it.

We're pretty sure the old adage "If you love something, let go…" isn't part of the official Jedi doctrine, but many thanks to ">WIRED for having the courage to do destroy the Destroyer.
