Rogue One: A Star Wars Story might not be Star Wars: Episode VIII, but that doesn't mean it's any less anticipated by fans.
The prequel, nestled in between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope, is generating massive views, hitting close to 30 million in the first 29 hours. The film is hovering around 16.3 million views on Youtube since it released, and added in another 13.2 million views via Facebook.
The numbers are impressive on their own, but even more so when compared to the heavily hyped Star Wars: Episode VII -The Force Awakens. Rogue One is only 200,000 shy of per hour views that Force Awakens generated, which is a good sign that the need for Star Wars is not slowing anytime soon.
Rogue One releases on December 16th.
