Phil Noto is no stranger to the Star Wars universe. The artist is currently drawing Poe Dameron, the new ongoing series featuring the "best pilot in the galaxy" from his adventures before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and he previously drew the Chewbacca mini-series for Marvel Comics. That's all in addition to his work as a cover artist for several of the books in the "Journey to The Force Awakens" line-up. Noto, however, also dabbles in art he does primarily for fun, as seen here.

After the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer debuted, Noto said on his tumblr he "desperately wanted to make" a fan poster for the film right away. However, he was actually working on Poe Dameron art at the time - what a life, to not be able to do Star Wars stuff for fun as you're doing Star Wars stuff for work. When he finished, however, he went to work on this piece.

The art shows his enthusiasm for the product, and he said, he hasn't "been this excited since the first teaser for TFA." In the poster, which again is not official, he has all his bases covered. The background has the Rebel Firebird, the symbol of the Rebel Alliance. Covering the top half of the image, split by the Firebird's beak and encircled by its pinions, are the Death Star and half of Darth Vader's looming presence. Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso is central, the largest figure on the poster. Next are the as-yet-unnamed characters played by Forest Whitaker and Diego Luna, who is in turn flanked by Mon Mothma and the new Imperial agent we believe is a Grand Admiral. Other snapshots from the trailer, with Donnie Yen's character taking on a stormtrooper, AT-ATs, and the new black-armored trooper, complete the image.

With Noto already doing work for Lucasfilm's publishing branches, this could be a great prototype poster for the next Star Wars film. Even if it's never released officially, it's a great first look, anyway.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is currently in post-production for a December 16, 2016 release.
