Spoilers for Captain America: Civil War follow.

Marvel Studios is well-known for their post-credits teases following their major super hero films and Captain America: Civil War was no exception. Audiences were treated to two additional scenes teasing the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with looks at what might come when Black Panther and Spider-Man: Homecoming arrive in 2017.

Despite not seeing Wakanda as Black Panther was first introduced to the world of Marvel movies, we did get our first look at it during the credits scene. Bucky was put into stasis in a Wakandan laboratory under T'Challa's supervision. According to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, that was always the plan for a Wakanda reveal.

Here's what Feige had to say:

That was always sort of the idea for the end of the movie, and as the movie was being developed, it felt like it would be additionally cool to have that happen in Wakanda – a super advanced place. They've got something that he could go in. And also, it speaks to Panther's arc. The person that he was out to kill early in the movie, he's now nobly helping. And then, of course, that led organically to a cool moment, where Cap can go, "Thanks for doing this, but they're going to come get you."

The post credits scene is also a testament to how far Black Panther came from the start of the film. He started out as a revenge seeking force of nature and became a diplomatic leader as his father wished. Helping Captain America and Bucky after being a major feud with them showcased his growth. It could be a tease of things to come when Ryan Coogler's Black Panther arrives as Bucky will likely be hunted by at least somebody.

Captain America: Civil War is now playing in theaters.
