In the past four days, a lot has been written about the upcoming reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Big whoop, want to fight about it? And depending on which site/source you want to believe, the reshoots are either extensive with the goal of dramatically improving the film or are just the run of the mill type that most big-budget films plan on far in advance.

As a refresher, sources for Page Six are claiming that "execs at Disney are not happy with the movie, and Rogue One will have to go back into four weeks of expensive reshoots in July." And yesterday, sources for Makingstarwars.net are claiming "40% of the film" is being reshot, reshoots will last "8 weeks," and Christopher McQuarrie (who previously worked on the script), is being brought on set to work alongside director Gareth Edwards.

However, that last bit has already been debunked. "Attn: bloggers. I'm reading some horsesh-t rumors tonight," McQuarrie tweeted. "You know where to find me. Do your jobs."

Now Entertainment Weekly has reached out to their sources and come away with some new details. According to them, Rogue One will undergo "four to five weeks of reshoots, beginning this month and ending just days before the Star Wars Celebration fan event in London on July 15." The reshoots were supposed to have taken place in the spring, but got pushed back to mid-summer because Edwards needed more time to figure out what needed to be adjusted.

"The changes have everything to do with clarity and character development and all take place [as inserts] within scenes we've already shot," said EW's source. "It's a lot of talking in cockpits."

Another issue, is that the large cast had planned on spring reshoots, not mid-summer, so "it is a complicated schedule trying to pull people in around other things they're doing."

But EW's reporting has uncovered a new collaborator on Rogue One: Tony Gilroy, the writer-director of Michael Clayton. He was brought aboard the project in the spring to offer notes on the first cut and write some additional material to enhance the story.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is being directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). The cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, Wen Jiang, Ben Mendelsohn, and Mads Mikkelson.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be in theaters on December 16, 2016.
