When The CW debuted its third season of The Flash, the hit drama introduced fans to a very different show. The series had its storyline changed after Barry Allen chose to embark on some time-traveling shenanigans. The hero altered history by traveling back in time to save his mother Nora from her untimely death, but the aftermath of Barry's actions were severe. However, Michelle Harrison doesn't think the hero should be too hard on himself for doing what he did.

The actress, who plays Nora Allen, spoke with ComicBook.com for our site's "Flashback" recap series. Harrison was asked what she thinks her character would tell Barry after watching him grow into the Flash.

"I think Barry is really hard on himself, so I think she would tell him that he's doing alright," she said. "To just love himself - to see how far he's come."

Ultimately, the actress just wants to see Barry be happy. The young man has had a hard life, and Nora wouldn't want her son to carry his grief around forever. Fans of the show have seen how angsty Barry can get about his past. His father was locked away in prison after being falsely accused of killing his wife. Of course, Nora has been dead and alive and then dead again. And, when it comes to Barry's friends, he has had enough falling outs and reconciliations to satisfy all his alternative selfs.

This season, Barry finds himself more burdened than ever after his timeline-hopping went awry. The hero tried to save his mother only to alter the course of history, and Barry was then forced to allow Reverse-Flash to kill Nora to set things back in order. However, his mother's second death didn't go as planned, and now Barry finds his own timeline slightly warped because of his decisions.

Next week, fans will get to explore more consequences of Barry Allen's time-traveling antics. The sixth episode, "Shade," will follow Wally West as he begins having dreams about his alternate timeline self. The CW has just released a sneak-preview for the episode, and you can watch the clip above.
