Jeremy Renner is a busy man. The actor has fingers in so many big action movie franchises - The Avengers, The Bourne Legacy and of Mission: Impossible - and yet, still finds time for indie prestige projects like his new movie Arrival, which is out in theaters today.

While on the press tour for Arrival, Renner talked about where things stand with some of his big franchise movies. He revealed that, at long, the man who does everything may not be able to do everything.

It's well known that Avengers: Infinity War will be shooting next year to make it's 2018 release date. The movie will be a massive undertaking, brining together all the players of the Marvel movies, and getting that shoot done will take a great deal of time from the schedules of all involved. According to Renner, the recent push forward with Mission: Impossible 6 also getting a 2018 release date, may just knock him out of contention to return as agent William Brandt, part of Cruise's character Ethan Hunt's new IMF team. As Renner told Collider:

Jeremy Renner Avengers 3 4 Mission Impossible 6 Schedule Conflict

"I'm not sure what's happening! I know that they're really wanting to get it going, and I haven't spoken to Tom about ultimately where it's at. I know that there might be some conflict with schedules, so I'm not sure what's going to happen. Avengers is going to eat up a lot of next year - gladly - but I certainly hope that won't get in the way of Tom and I and the gang getting back together, because I'd love to."

Clearly for Renner the bigger payday is in Marvel's Avengers sandbox, so that's the priority. Since his Agent Brandt wasn't a critical part of the last Mission film, Rogue Nation, it's debatable if he needs to be a big part of the next one. A cameo appearance (i.e., day or two on set) could definitely still be possible, even with Renner's Avengers commitment.

Avengers: Infinity War will be in theaters on May 4, 2018; Mission: Impossible 6 will be in theaters on July 27, 2018.
