Fans of Dragon Ball take pride in their favorite characters. Whether you're Team Goku or Team Yamcha, every fan of the franchise has a fighter who catches their eye. There are dozens of high-profile characters to choose from when it comes to Dragon Ball, but many find themselves drawn to Goku's gullible charm or Vegeta's tsundere behavior. However, when it comes to the creator of Dragon Ball, neither of these heroes sit in his top spot.

In the past, Akira Toriyama has talked about his favorite characters of the Dragon Ball series. When asked who his favorite character was during an interview for Daizenshuu 2, Toriyama said Goku was ever-so slightly topped by a green alien.

"I guess I like Piccolo the most after all," Toriyama said. "Out of all the enemies, Piccolo Daimaō is the one I like most, and even after that I like Piccolo the most. I like Piccolo about the same as I like Goku."

Continuing, Toriyama said he also loved working with Satan because of his gag personality. "It was fun drawing Satan. When I first brought him out, I didn't think that I would end up making Satan that important of a character. I thought he'd just be a one-shot character. Satan is like that, but thinking up worthless gags is more enjoyable than doing the fight scenes," Toriyama joked.

Dragon Ball Super recently kicked off the 'Universal Survival' saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:
