If you are looking forward to season two of One Punch Man, then you are not the only one. The shonen anime quickly became a fan-favorite title back in 2015 after it premiered, and fans have been waiting for the show to get a new season. Last year, reports confirmed that a second season had been ordered, but Madhouse has kept quiet about the show's comeback date. Right now, fans simply know the show is in some part of production. Still, fans can make an educated guess as to when the show may debut, and it seems like they may have to wait until next year to see Saitama again.

Earlier this year, news broke that One Punch Man's new season had already entered production. An ad regarding the show's second season was published by Shueisha. In the promo, fans are shown a black-and-white image of Saitama in all his caped bald glory. The photo's captions then confirm that production is in progress for One Punch Man season two.

Depending on where One Punch Man is in its animation, the anime could make a return as soon as this winter. Rumors have suggested that One Punch Man's second season may debut this November if all things go well. While a winter debut would not be unheard of, other fans have argued the timeframe seems unlikely given the lack of information provided by Madhouse or One Punch Man's cast.

There has been no word from cast members or sighting of voice actors working on One Punch Man as of yet. Madhouse may be especially good at keeping that production aspect secret, but fans think the studio is still too busy working on the show's animation to worry about post-production concerns like that. If One Punch Man did only exit pre-production back in March, then there is a very good chance the show will not debut until spring or even summer 2018.

While averages are difficult to assume with anime, a shonen anime takes anywhere from 6-9 months to finish a cour (12-15 episodes). If One Punch Man returns with a one-cour season like it did when it premiered, animation would only be completed between November - December 2018. Additional time would be needed to complete post-production and network publicity, pushing the show back to a spring premiere at the earliest.

For now, fans can only wait for Madhouse to drop an official statement regarding the return of One Punch Man. Fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of Saitama and the Hero's Association for years now. Surely, they can put up with a bit more waiting. That is, so long as the situation does not turn into another Attack on Titan snafu. Fans may not be able to wait that long.

You can check out One-Punch Man's synopsis from Viz Media below:

"Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can't seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!"
