Pokemon Sun & Moon has been heating up the anime action, and the preview for the upcoming episode is garnering lots of attention. The new episode looks like it will be paying homage to classic anime sports titles.

With baseball season picking up, the new episode is titled "The Fierce Pokébase Match! Go for a Tide-Turning Home Run!!" and will feature epic baseball action. The preview (seen above) shows Team Rocket vs the Pokemon trainers in a baseball game in the style of anime sport classics such as Star of the Giants.

If you are unfamiliar with Pokemon Sun & Moon, the show's official site describes it below,

"What starts as a summer vacation in the tropical Alola region turns into the next exciting chapter in Ash Ketchum's quest to become a Pokémon Master! There's plenty for Ash and Pikachu to explore in this sunny new region, with exciting new Pokémon to discover and interesting people to learn from along the way—including the cool Professor Kukui and the fun-loving Samson Oak. More new faces will help guide Ash's Alolan adventure, in the form of a group of skilled Trainers—Kiawe, Lana, Mallow, and Sophocles—and a mysterious research assistant called Lillie. Frequent foes Team Rocket have also made the trip to Alola, looking to swipe some high-powered new Pokémon. But they have some heavy competition on the villainy front: the ruffians of Team Skull, who delight in causing chaos and may have more sinister intentions…"

The show premiered the English version of the show on Disney XD on Friday, May 12. It will then show the third episode the next day, at 9 a.m. and will continue weekly on Saturday mornings at that time slot.

Disney XD signed a multi-year distribution deal last year to air Pokemon the Series: Sun & Moon, as well as all 19 prior seasons and multiple animated movies. Fans can watch the new Sun and Moon as it airs on Saturday mornings on Disney XD.
