'Justice League' Cast Reveals What They Would Want From Animated Reunion

There are many that look at the Justice League animated series as the de facto version of DC's characters, and the cast would love to get the band back together if the opportunity arose.

Justice League hit the small screen in 2001, and subsequently created some of the best translations of these iconic characters. A recent tweet kickstarted a big fan reaction on social media, as fans from all over the world let WB know that would love to see a proper reunion. It seems the cast is ready for it as well.

"I'm often at Comic-Cons across the country where I get to interact with the audience, and a frequently asked question is why there hasn't been a Justice League animated movie based on the animated TV series," Kevin Conroy told THR. "There's a large and loyal fan base there that you'd think the studio would want to tap into. To me it's a no-brainer."

Conroy's voiced Batman for the better part of 25 years, but Wonder Woman actress Susan Eisenberg feels exactly the same way.

"Well, selfishly, I'd love to explore the relationship between Bruce and Diana a bit more, and I know there are some wonderbat fans out there who feel the same way," Eisenberg said. "But mostly, I would just love to see a story where The League is united in its fight of good vs. evil, with some romance and levity thrown in for good measure!"

Conroy loves the dynamic between the shadowy Batman and the rest of the League. "The challenge for me playing the complicated character of Batman is his sense of isolation and inability to connect to others," Conroy said. "Especially in playing him in the team setting of the Justice League, there's a real contradiction there."

Green Lantern actor Phil LaMarr is just happy fans love the show, though he knows why a reunion hasn't happened sooner. "Your first hope is that someone will see your work, your second is that it will, in some way, endure. Executives tend to look for the biggest, shiniest new thing, not the best, most-loved old thing — until someone proves there's an audience for it."

Superman actor George Newbern feels the support for a reunion as well. "There are so many fans that grew up on Justice League on Cartoon Network that seem to want to reboot some sort of movie or limited series," Newbern said.

Flash actor Michael Rosenbaum isn't surprised that fans want a reunion, though he is surprised it was cancelled in the first place. "Why it was prematurely cancelled always baffled me," Rosenbaum said. "I'd be honored and grateful to be a part of any sort of reunion with all the beautiful people associated with this show."

Here's hoping the Justice League reunion goes from a wish to reality.
