Manu Bennett Had Arrow EP Change A Scene To Make Deathstroke More Badass

Manu Bennett, who plays Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson on Arrow, told MYM Buzz that he asked for a minor change to the Season Six premiere to make sure his vision of Slade was accurately represented -- and producers agreed with him.

Bennett said that at one point, there is a scene where Slade was intended to go with (whoever remains of) Team Arrow from one point on the island to another, and that he asked executive producer Marc Guggenheim to rewrite it so that it didn't feel so chummy, joking, "Is this going to be a musical?" Guggenheim agreed and some alterations were made, which Bennett said you can see in the Season Six trailer.

"I'm kind of just wanting to preserve the strength of the relationship between Slade and Oliver on that level," Bennett said. "It's such a stand-alone relationship; I just don't want to get caught up in the group and be like 'Hey, high five! Yeah!'"

Arrow will return for its sixth season on The CW on Oct. 12, 2017, with the season premiere episode titled "Fallout." The premiere will mark a move from its traditional Wednesday time slot to Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
