Here's How to Get Around the Pokken Tournament Demo Limit and Play as Much as You Want

Late tonight a demo for Pokken Tournament will be hitting the Nintendo Switch. If you have a Japanese account on your Switch, you can already log on to the Japanese eShop and download the demo there and start playing. Several people have done so, and several people have noticed a statement displayed before the game boots up warning players that the demo has a 15-battle limit. That's a pretty harsh limit, but you can get around it.

Players have had a little time to sit around with the demo, and in Pokken Tournament 15 battles can go pretty quickly. It's an engrossing game. Naturally, someone decided that they were going to delete the demo from their Switch and download it again. Lo and behold, when you do that, the demo resets itself, and you have another 15 battles to work through.

We assume, unless Nintendo decides to patch up the demo and re-upload it to the eShop, that this trick will work for as along as you want it to. Obviously it's not going to replace the full game, but it does give you an option if you're looking to get in some extra practice or sit around and work through a bunch of combos before (or after) the full game launches. We can't all buy it on day one, and that's fine.

While it might seem somewhat cumbersome, clumsy, and tedious, it's certainly better than the alternative, which was to download the demo from every region's eShop in order to wring out as much playtime as possible. As someone who spent plenty of time with the Wii U version, I'm telling you, Pokémon fans are going to zip through 15 battles in no time. If that be you, just plan your bathroom breaks for those periods when you'll need to delete and re-download the demo. Done deal.
