Atari 2600 Retro Handheld Console Announced
Another new retro product from Atari has been revealed, this one being a handheld Atari 2600 [...]
The Console's Features
One of the most noticeable features of the Atari "Retro" Handheld console as it's being called is definitely the wood grain look that'll remind veteran gamers of the 2600 console, but it boasts more features than just looks.
The handheld device has a 2.4-inch screen with controls on either side of the screen that allow for quick maneuvering in the classic games. While owners can easily play in a handheld mode, an A/V output allows for playing on the big screen by connecting the Atari Handheld to a TV or similar display.
A couple of AAA batteries are required to play the device, so don't expect a charger and a battery like most newer handhelds.
50 Games are Included
Even though players will have to pay for some batteries to take part in the retro gaming, their money won't be going towards any individual games. The Atari "Retro" Handheld device ships with 50 classic games included to keep gamers busy for quite a while.
