Gears of War 4 Oct. Update Brings Halloween, New Maps, Xbox One X Support, And More

It's that time of year, the Halloween events are in full swing and there are plenty to choose from. Among those exciting new festive adventures returns the Halloween special in the popular Xbox One shooter Gears of War 4. The publishers recently released a new video showcasing everything new in their latest October update, including the Halloween festivities, a new map, Xbox One X support, and more. The Xbox One X is almost here and more and more titles are getting ready to show off the best they've got on the new powerhouse system. But for those that enjoy the game and have no immediate plans for a system upgrade, there is still plenty left to enjoy within the world of Gears.

The two recently added maps include the Fuel Depot and the Lift Apex. Though fans of the first Gears of War will remember the Fuel Depot, Lift Apex - though inspired by earlier maps - provides a new experience. The latter is set within the Imulsion Extraction Facility smack dab in the middle of the Serano Ocean.

For those that have access to the season pass, the additional maps will be available on October 23rd. For those that don't, they are still on the way but at the later date on October 30th.

The Halloween event, which is going on live now, includes festive events, new weapons skins, new characters, and a lot of other Halloween-inspired goodies for players to enjoy. That's not all though - The Coalition will be celebrating their 11th anniversary for the Gears franchise this November, so there will be even more adventures for fans of this popular shooter.
