In some ways, the season four arc of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD has been the emotional character arc of AIDA, the first life model decoy.
AIDA was created by Dr. Holden Radcliffe, with assistance from Leo Fitz, while the rest of the SHIELD team was busy tracking down Quake and dealing with Ghost Rider, which ultimately led to AIDA reading the Darkhold. Radcliffe then used AIDA to infiltrate SHIELD, leading into the paranoid "LMD" storyline, and AIDA built the Framework and trapped most of the SHIELD team inside. Now, in the Season 4 finale, she has access to multiple Inhuman powers and is not happy.
Now that AIDA has a human body of her own, which was the whole purpose of her actions in the Framework, what's her goal going into "World's End?" According to Agents of SHIELD executive producer Jeff Bell, the goal may be less well-planned and more driven by emotion.
"I think that they have the lethal combination the most powerful inhuman, one of the most intelligent creatures to ever walk the planet and completely emotionally incapable of dealing with any of it," Bell tells ComicBook.com. "So it's one thing to have almost an infant trying to process emotions, but to give her all that power and all that cunning, I think there are bad things ahead."
A lot of that emotion is aimed at Fitz, whom AIDA feels spurned her in the previous episode. Could this spell the end for FtizSimmons?
In “World’s End,” with the surprising emergence of Ghost Rider, Coulson and the team attempt to stop Aida from ending the world.

Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they’ve ever faced – an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman, Lincoln Campbell.
