Some new details have emerged regarding more characters set to appear in the untitled Han Solo movie, the next anthology film to follow after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Production is currently underway for the film to be released next year. While we await for the official reveal of the film’s real title, we’re happy to learn what we can about the film that’s shrouded in secrecy, much like all Star Wars movies.
Making Star Wars has learned some new character names and their actors who are rumored to be appearing in the film, though we can only speculate what roles they will play in the movie.
The site states that Ian Kenny of Sing Street will be playing a character named Rebolt, Harley Durst is playing Moloch, and Tien Hoang is playing Moloch’s Henchman.
Durst performed stunts for the first two Wolverine movies, the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Wonder Woman, and Thor: Ragnarok—so he certainly has his nerd credentials in order.
Hoang only has a few credits for short films to his name at this point, so this Star Wars film appears to be his biggest role to date. He’s a martial artist and stunt worker.
We previously reported on new characters Val and Mother Proxima, as well as the rumor about Dryden Vos and how he could be a returning Jedi from the Phantom Menace. It’s interesting that we still don’t know much about the main roles that aren’t established characters, though it makes sense that Lucasfilm would want to keep everything under wraps.
With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story focusing on space battles and the war aspects of the franchise, it seems like each film is going to explore the corners that the overall saga consists of. We’re expecting the next anthology film to deal with the swashbuckling, adventure aspects that make the Star Wars films so much fun.
The Han Solo spinoff movie is directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, who previously made 21 Jumpstreet and the LEGO Movie. The movie is written by Empire Strikes Back mastermind Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan.
Hopefully we will find out the official title soon—the next place Lucasfilm might make an announcement would be the D23 Expo in early July, with San Diego Comic Con following the next week. The movie will be in theaters May 25, 2018.
