Lynda Carter Wants Movie Wonder Woman To Have Heart And A Sense Of Humor

With Warner Bros. finally announcing a standalone Wonder Woman movie last week, Vulture caught up with Lynda Carter from the seventies Wonder Woman TV series to get her thoughts.

In general, Carter said, "Wonder Woman is about a lot more than just superhero stuff. She's complicated. Ultimately, she's about truth, and it's all heart with her. She's a strong female force."

In regards to why it has taken so long for Wonder Woman to get her own standalone movie when Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and other male superheroes have had multiple films, Carter explained, "I think females baffle men, and so, that's made it difficult to get a Wonder Woman movie made."

Carter also gave some insight into how she hopes Wonder Woman is portrayed on the big screen. Carter said, "She's strong, but she's so much more — not everybody gets that ... Most important, I want her to have a heart and a strong sense of humor."

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on March 25, 2016.
