Sony's PlayStation Network and Microsoft's Xbox Live are both suffering outages thanks to what appear to be distributed denial-of-service attacks, according to Deadline.

The attack is being claimed by the anonymous "hacker" group, Lizard Squad. The attacks may or may not have to do with Sony's decision to digitally distribute The Interview. The original Sony hackers promised a "Christmas gift" if the film was released, but whether or not these attacks are it remains unconfirmed.

Sony's PlayStation Network has undergone a number of similar attacks over the past few months. At the time of posting, PSN has no projected time to come back online, but seetheinterview.com, which is making The Interview available for digital rental, remains online.
