Celebrating 75 years of the character, the Green Lantern variants are the latest in a number of such covers that started with Batman in 2014. Not long ago, there was The Flash. This month, DC has a number of Joker-themed variant covers.

Not all the monthly variants have been character-centric; March with movie poster variant covers, and next month is Teen Titans Go! theme month. Rather unsurprisingly, they didn’t have themed variants during the Convergence event.
