Deadpool-still

Deadpool took some punishment during his feature film debut (we don't count Origins), but he always got to his target. Most of that is due to his unique mash-up of fighting styles, and that is courtesy of renowned Stunt Fight Coordinator Phillip J. Silvera.

In a new behind the scenes video (via Rolling Stone) Silvera (Taken, Daredevil) gives us a glimpse of how they come up with some of the fantastic fight scenes, and it starts out with just drawing from his already vast combat experience in Boxing, Karate, Kung-Fu, Wushu, and Fencing. All of that was used in creating the huge AJAX (Ed Skrein) combat scene towards the end of the film, and we get a glimpse of how that final fight came into being.

Towards the 3 minute mark, Silvera goes into detail on how the Colossus (Andre Tricoteux) and Angel Dust (Gina Carano) fight was created. Using a mixture of motion capture and stunt double work, finally culminating in Carano having to mime the entire scene by herself. Silvano said that actually lent more authenticity to the scene in the end, as she could let loose knowing she wasn't going to hurt anyone.
