Last night at the MTV Movie Awards, co-host Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson sported an all-familiar symbol that comic fans recognized instantly.

Comic fans know the symbol, on the black background, resembles that of Black Adam, the first champion of the wizard Shazam. Johnson officially announced his involvement last year as the evil counterpart to the World's Mightiest Mortal, Captain Marvel, which has yet to be cast for the Shazam! movie, scheduled to be released in 2019.

Johnson prides himself on his comic book knowledge, having said he'd love have been Luke Cage or even Namor. Sporting the shirt on such a national audience is more than a simple shoutout and Easter egg to the character, it's more of an announcement that Black Adam has arrived.

So do you think the Rock will give fans the Black Adam they've been waiting for? Do you think that he should have chosen the role of Captain Marvel instead? Sound off in the comments below.
