We’re looking at the rosters of both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, now two decades removed from the original event, and reimagining what that fight card might look like if the event took place today. And, just like in the original DC Vs. Marvel event, you, the fans, will vote to decide the winners!
In this matchup, we have Batman of the DC Universe taking on Captain America of the Marvel Universe! We’ve laid out arguments for both sides in the video above, now it’s up to you to vote!
In the DC Comics corner: Batman goes by many names. The Dark Knight. The Caped Crusader. No matter what you call him, he’s one of the biggest phenomenon ever created for superhero comics.
Bruce Wayne, the heir to the Wayne fortune, watched his parents’ murder in Gotham City’s Crime Alley and made one vital promise – “Never again.”
Since then, Batman’s battle against crime in Gotham City has spawned several films and television series, both live action and animated, video games, and more. The bat signal is recognized across the world.
Batman may not have any superpowers, but he is peak human both physically and mentally. He’s a master martial artist, the world’s greatest detective, and has a gadget for every situation. Fans have plenty of firm justifications for voting for Batman in this contest.
In the Marvel corner: Sam Wilson may not be a super soldier himself, but he was Steve Rogers’ partner and friend for many years. Now he’s set aside his Falcon persona to take up the shield and continue the legacy of Captain America.
That doesn’t mean he’s left his high-flying ways behind. As Captain America, Sam Wilson added a shield to his arsenal but kept his wings and his own Falcon partner, Redwing.
Sam Wilson has proven to be every bit the born leader as the previous Captain America and has taken the lead of multiple teams of Avengers.
As Captain America, Sam Wilson has proven o be a champion of the people, and he isn’t afraid to go up against establishment organizations like SHIELD, or even his own mentor Steve Rogers, to do what’s right. That’s a Captain America worth voting for.
So, dear reader, will it be Batman or Captain America? Make your choice and vote! And be sure to vote in our previous faceoffs, Captain Marvel vs. Superman and Nightwing vs. Daredevil, and check back for more of ComicBook.com’s updated DC Vs. Marvel matchups!
